Privacy isn't a checkbox — it's a craft. As a Privacy Consultant, you're the person who truly makes a director understand why privacy isn't something to 'just take care of.' You translate a DPIA into clear advice, and clients keep coming back to you because they trust you.

The organization is a specialized team of thirteen consultants, part of a larger group, that supports SME+ organizations in the Netherlands in the field of privacy and information security. Not a large, anonymous firm, but a close-knit team where your expertise is visible — to colleagues and clients alike.

The team is growing significantly in the coming period. They're looking for someone to help build that growth.

What you'll do.

You'll work at leading organizations in transportation, retail, healthcare, education, and government. No two assignments are the same.

  • Advising and guiding — you're the sparring partner for management and internal stakeholders on a wide range of privacy issues.
  • Audits and DPIAs — you map out risks sharply and translate them into concrete, actionable recommendations.
  • Policy and implementation — you develop privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines that actually work in practice.
  • EU AI Act — you help organizations classify their AI systems, set up the right documentation, and comply with obligations around transparency, human oversight, and data quality.
  • Awareness and training — you coordinate programs that make employees at client organizations aware of privacy in their daily work.
  • Buddy for colleagues — you actively share your knowledge and help colleagues grow on complex projects such as a privacy baseline assessment or a PIMS implementation.

Alongside client work, you contribute to internal projects, knowledge-sharing sessions, and product management sessions. Your insights help the organization become sharper and better.

What you bring.

You're independent, but not a lone wolf. You communicate proactively, aren't afraid to take a stance, and know that the best advice also needs buy-in.

  • At least a bachelor's degree, preferably in Law, Computer Science, or Business Administration
  • CIPP/E certification
  • CAICO is a strong plus
  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrable experience with privacy audits, drafting privacy policies, and conducting DPIAs
  • Thorough knowledge of the GDPR and related legislation
  • Knowledge of or demonstrable interest in the EU AI Act and its practical application; affinity with AI risks such as bias and explainability is a plus
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
  • Proactive, eager to learn, persuasive, and self-starting

What the organization offers.

  • Salary between €4,250 and €5,500 per month, depending on experience, plus 8% vacation pay
  • Bonus scheme based on personal and company performance
  • 25 vacation days and a solid pension plan
  • Company car or mobility allowance
  • Laptop and smartphone (or phone allowance)
  • Work-from-home allowance — you'll work in a hybrid setup: from home, at the office in the Utrecht region, and on-site with clients
  • Internal training academy with extensive training opportunities and full support for professional and personal growth
  • Memberships with IAPP, PvIB, and ISACA
  • Great work environment with attention to work-life balance, team outings, internal and external knowledge-sharing sessions, get-togethers, and an annual weekend getaway
